Lisa Mayo of West Covina thought if she could just reach one person with her play about the warning signs of domestic violence then she had done her job.
What she was not expecting was that more than 130 audience members would sign up for help with local support groups after a recent performance of her play, "Circles of Life: We Can Make This Work."
After the momentum of that successful performance in East Los Angeles, Mayo is reaching out to high schools in hopes the young actors will educate their peers on the subject
West Covina High School was the first school to perform the play to an audience of students, parents and community leaders.
